Please join us on Saturday, June 6th in the heart of the Lower East Side as we showcase 6 original short films by emerging filmmakers from around the world! Each selected work will compete for a prize voted by the audience and the winning film also advances to the 2nd round which takes place in July .
Launched in the Summer of 2012, Katra Film Series screens a selection of quality shorts by emerging and award-winning filmmakers in NYC and provides a great networking platform for industry professionals. In partnership with Everyone Matters and Rhino Films the 2015 Grand Prize Winner will be awarded a one-on-one meeting with acclaimed Producer Stephen Nemeth from the Academy-Award Nominated The Sessions and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

SOMEWHERE IN THE WAVES – directed by Dominick Nero
A Christian groom-to-be and an atheist wedding photographer cross paths one evening on the beach. Their night together challenges his vows, her disbelief, and God’s plan overall.
COP SHIT – directed by Gino Donatelli
A cop desperate for redemption turns to his sisters’ crack-head boyfriend to help bring down a drug dealer who uses children to peddle his drugs.
TAKE 5 – directed by Jasmine Callis
A short-film about a college film crew, documenting high-school basketball star, Marcus Fulton Jr., during his senior year at Englewood High.
AFFLICTION – directed by Prabal Chakraborty
A relationship drama about an independent-minded woman whose life is changed when she realizes that keeping her daughter away from her divorced husband is causing her daughter more harm than good.
ASHES TO ASHES – directed by James Newman
A firefighter struggles between reality and his obsessions with what is right and wrong.
WHAT MAKES ALEX TICK? – directed by Gideon Shmorak
When a novice filmmaker embarks on a documentary project about what satisfies women, things get dicey after his girlfriend finds out that he got intimately involved with one of his subjects.
