Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 4th for the 2015 November Edition! Featuring Academy-Award Winner Melissa Leo and a wide range selection from around the world, including works from France and Korea. Each selected short will compete for a $1000 prize voted by the audience and the winning film advances to the penultimate round in December.

US – directed by Hideki Shiota
Why are we here? What’s the meaning of life? This film delivers one of the most fundamental questions of being us. 7 minutes minimal cinema. It’s a story about a journey into ourselves.

Kin – directed by Deborah Kim
The story of 21 year old Afro-Korean Jake. Jake’s African-American mother sends him to Korea soon after he turns 16 in hopes that he will learn more about his “other” culture and finally meet his Korean father.

We Just Met – directed by Muneeb Hassan
Set in New York City, the story captures what it means to surrender to love through the metaphor of a foreigner thrust into a totally unfamiliar, unforgiving, and quintessentially American urban environment, where he is forced to adapt.

Top of the Rock – directed by Jes Bickhart
The battle for the brave new world of New York’s most iconic photograph – “Lunch atop a skyscraper” taken by Charlie Ebbets in 1932, of the iron workers taking a meal break from their deadly work building the Rockefeller Center.

The Bench Project – created by Steven Bidwell
Connected only by their setting, couples, strangers, friends and lovers explore the comedic, the sublime, the mysterious and the bizarre. Examine the human experience as it develops on a bench.

White Mushroom, Black Earth – directed by Althea Rao
Asuka is coming back to New York and Nate is going to make her mushroom soup. Where to find the best mushroom in New York City?
