This short follows the end-of-life transition of death educator, Shatzi Weisberger, and those in the death and dying community who supported her: Catharine DeLong (a classically trained harpist and certified music thanatologist whose live music accompanies people in their final hours) and Amy Cunningham (a funeral director and green burial advocate). Through vérité filmmaking, the audience accompanies Shatzi during her transition and witnesses what is possible when one is willing to embrace conversations about their inevitable death. Death Differently’s goal is to get people talking about death, dying, and grief, and hopes this project will inspire people to take a more active role in planning for their own deaths while they are well.
