This week we are excited to launch our newest special editon, the Katra Latinx Film Festival, in a flexible online format on the Xerb.TV streaming platform! “The new Katra LATINX edition will be dedicated to empowering and highlighting Latino short filmmakers from around the world,” says founder Geoffrey Guerrero. To be eligible for consideration, two key members of the production crew must be of Latino descent.

The festival’s inaugural run is graced with a diverse spread of genres and stories, from Brooklyn-based drama “Cyclone” exploring the lows and highs of a relationship against the backdrop of Coney Island’s thrill rides, to the short Brazilian fantasy “The Incredible Tale of the Spiritless Man,” a magic realism tale of interconnectedness, to Mexican-shot dark comedy “A Date With Death,” about a very unusual romantic outing.

The festival will conclude with a socially distanced award ceremony on Friday, November 20th, at HiO Tribeca, with complimentary food, beverages, and HiO gift bags for all attendees.
