Katra Film Series is proud to celebrate its 10 Year Anniversary back in movie theaters! Widely known for discovering new talent and launching careers, Katra is a recipient of the 2020 Google PowerUp grant, 2019 Prosperity Nation Award, and Rated Top 100 Best Reviewed Festival on Film Freeway for 5 years in a row — remaining true to its original mission of discovering the next generation of talented filmmakers, screenwriters and diverse content creators from around the world.

Recent success stories include Judd Ehrlich, who is latest film “Price of Freedom” just got selected to this year’s iconic Tribeca Film Festival; John Campbell, who’s powerful film “The Infamous Future” won our Best Documentary Award in 2019 and is now available to watch on HBO Max; Vanessa Rubio, who screened one of her first narrative short films with us in our 1st year, can now be seen in a co-starring role in one of the top rated shows on NETFLIX “Cobra Kai,”; Felix Thompson, winner of our inaugural Grand Prize Award in 2012, directed the original Netflix Series “Letter for the King”; Kiara C. Jones who recently produced the narrative feature “Premature” premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, won an Independent Spirit Award and is available to watch on HULU; Takeshi Fukunaga 2nd narrative feature “Ainu Mosir” received special jury mention at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival and had its NETFLIX premiere in November 2020.
